The Intel Reader, a mobile handheld device designed to increase independence for people who have trouble reading standard print, is now available to assist the more than 55 million people who have specific learning disabilities such as dyslexia or vision problems such as low-vision or blindness. This paperback book-sized device converts printed text to digital text and reads it aloud to the user, allowing people to access the information that many of us take for granted, such as reading a menu or a favorite book.
